Privacy Policy for PreciEat

At PreciEat, we value your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how PreciEat (“we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, processes, and secures your information when you use the PreciEat mobile application (the “App”).
1. Data Collection & Processing
PreciEat collects and processes data locally on your device to analyze ingredient labels. When you scan a product using the camera, optical character recognition (OCR) is performed directly on your iPhone. We do not store raw images on external servers.
2. AI Analysis Integration
To generate accurate ingredient health analyses and ratings, the App sends the scanned label image and extracted text to a secure AI service via encrypted endpoints. No personally identifiable information (PII) is transmitted to the AI backend. The AI service processes this data solely to compute compliance scores based on your selected diet preferences and allergen toggles.
3. On-Device Storage
Your scan history, saved products, family profile details, and custom ingredients are stored strictly on your device using Apple’s Core Data framework. This information is private and is not sent to any external servers. If you back up your entire iPhone via iOS iCloud Backup, this local data is securely included in that backup.
4. User Rights & Data Deletion
Since all profile settings, allergens, and history are stored locally, you have absolute control over your data. You can delete your scan history or remove family profiles directly within the App at any time, which permanently removes the information from your device’s memory.
5. Analytics & Third-Party SDKs
We do not sell your data or use third-party tracking software to build profiles. PreciEat does not contain advertisement networks or marketing SDKs that monitor your cross-app behavior.
6. Children’s Privacy
PreciEat does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children. Our age-based thresholds are computed entirely on-device and are not transmitted to or stored on our servers.
